Check out the following guides (work in progress):

Brain disabilities is a broad category, and they can pop up at any time. There’s a significant stigma around brain disabilities globally. This stigma means that someone may not even know they have a brain disability.

Additionally, this stigma results in varying levels of willingness regarding disclosure. Some people believe others will treat them differently if they know about their brain disability. Others choose to live openly.

Brain disabilities may develop at any point. Some brain disabilities are lifelong, though people may not realize they have them until later in life. Others can develop at various points, often because of stress or trauma. Some even happen as part of the aging process.

Since brain disabilities are so varied, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, a general consciousness of brain disabilities can make an enormous difference in the experience of people in our organization.

There is nothing wrong with having a brain disability. Yet if someone discloses their disability to us, we must hold that in confidence and work with them to maximize their options to enjoy our fan organization.

After all, at the end of the day, we are all here for the same reason: the love of Star Trek.

Let’s boldly go,
