As we grow, we may find that we need accommodation. Yet the people who diagnose disabilities rarely do more than point us in the right direction to find the things that work for us. Usually they leave us to figure it out.

This page will focus on beginner guides to various common accommodations. While we can’t cover all of them, we can help each other get started on figuring out what works for us. Initially, we’ll focus on accommodations that make STARFLEET, International materials more accessible.

These options are highly practical for many people, and in some cases, adjusting to using these is life changing. In many cases, it’s an improvement to quality of life even when it seems like a little thing.

Unfortunately, many types of accommodation carry varying levels of stigma. There is nothing wrong with using accommodations to access and participate. In fact, chances are we already do so and this is the next step in our journey.

The philosophies we embrace for Star Trek like IDIC encourage us to embrace our differences. Ultimately, by embracing what makes us unique and accommodating our own needs, we can all be stronger.

Let’s boldly go,
